The lack of important international premieres of new cars and concepts at the latest Chicago motor show, and automakers choosing the cheaper online unveilings, may point to a future of virtual auto shows and nothing but virtual auto shows.
And Kia...
You pussy.

I dunno, granted I’m not a research study, but:
I spend a lot of time online learning about cars old and new. But going to the NY auto show last year... that was an experience you can’t serve up online. Beside the obvious advantage of actually seeing and (in most cases) sitting in the cars, you’re just in a huge space filled with cars and other people looking at them.
As a spectacle if nothing else, I imagine they will keep on, at least in big markets like New York.

It’s a trend. Even Detroit, despite having more unveilings, lacked the glamour and pizazz of past years. Toyota haven’t showed anything. Neither did Mazda. Some manufacturers didn’t even showed up.
Geneva will probably be more interesting, since it will have some unique, EU focused brands attending.

The auto show in Pittsburgh sucks and it still gets huge attendance. Me and my friend spent 3 hours there Friday. Of all the things to worry about losing, I think we are a ok

Nobody told the people of Chicago this, the show was as crowded as I’ve ever seen it this weekend
